Position Title:

NDT Analyst - Level II (Field Work: Thickness & Flaw Detection)

Department:

Integrated Digital Reliability

Location:

Jharsuguda / Field Sites

Reports To:

Head - Integrated Digital Reliability / RCFA Specialist

Role Purpose:

Perform UT-based NDT inspections to assess equipment health, detect early anomalies, and support plant reliability, safety, and digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Inspections:

  • Conduct UT thickness and flaw detection as per ASME/ASTM/IS standards.
  • Inspect pipelines, vessels, exchangers, and rotating equipment.
  • Collect and log accurate field data.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Interpret A/B/C-scan data for corrosion, pitting, and cracks.
  • Generate detailed reports with severity ratings and recommendations.
  • Support RCFA with NDT insights and historical data.
  • Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and statutory standards.
  • Maintain calibration and verification records.
  • Technical Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Inspection, and Reliability teams.
  • Guide junior staff and support audits and reliability initiatives.
  • Digitization & Documentation:

  • Maintain digital inspection records and asset history.
  • Contribute to SOPs and digital NDT system integration.
  • Support technology upgrades and data-driven reliability improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:

    Diploma/B. E. /B. Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Certifications:

    ASNT/ISO 9712 Level II in UT (Thickness & Flaw Detection); RT/PT/MT Level II preferred.
  • Experience:

    3-7 years in industrial NDT (preferably in metals, power, or process industries).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficient in digital UT tools (e. g. , Olympus, Krautkramer).
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Familiarity with digital data management systems.
  • Team collaboration and communication.
  • Field-readiness and EHS compliance.

Key Deliverables:

  • Timely, accurate NDT inspections and reports.
  • Digital corrosion mapping and flaw analysis.
  • Enhanced inspection efficiency and reliability.
  • Full compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Contribution to digital reliability transformation.
