Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Room Consultant to join our dynamic Emergency Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries, ensuring timely and effective diagnosis, treatment, and disposition. This role requires exceptional clinical acumen, leadership skills, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care: Provide comprehensive medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting to the Emergency Department with a wide range of medical and surgical emergencies, trauma, and critical conditions. Initiate and manage resuscitation efforts for critically ill or injured patients. Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., laboratory, imaging) to facilitate accurate diagnosis. Perform emergency procedures as required (e.g., intubation, central line insertion, chest tube insertion, fracture reduction). Formulate and implement appropriate management plans, including admission, discharge, or transfer. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters, including medical history, physical examination findings, investigations, diagnoses, treatments, and disposition. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate effectively with other medical specialties, allied health professionals, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care transitions. Maintain professional and ethical conduct at all times. Participate in on-call rotations as required by the department. Qualifications Education: Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution. Specialist qualification in Emergency Medicine (e.g., FRACGP, FCEM, ABEM certification, MD/DNB Emergency Medicine, or equivalent international qualification). Experience: Minimum 1-5 years of post-specialization experience as an Emergency Room Consultant in a busy emergency department. Demonstrated experience in managing a wide range of acute medical, surgical, and trauma cases, including critical care. Licensure/Certification: Valid medical license to practice in [Country/State/Region]. Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is mandatory. Additional certifications (e.g., ATLS Instructor, Ultrasound in Emergency Medicine) are highly desirable. Skills & Attributes: Exceptional clinical diagnostic and decision-making skills.
