Position Summary:

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) plays a vital frontline role in delivering emergency pre-hospital care and life-saving interventions as part of the 108 ambulance services in Maharashtra. EMTs respond to a variety of medical emergencies, assess and stabilize patients, and provide safe transport to healthcare facilities while maintaining a calm, compassionate, and professional demeanor under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

* Respond promptly to 108 emergency dispatches and assess the situation upon arrival

* Provide immediate life support interventions in line with

EMT protocols

* Triage patients and manage multiple casualties when required

* Conduct physical examinations, gather patient history, and monitor vital signs

* Administer CPR, oxygen therapy, bleeding control, splinting, and AED usage

* Complete Patient Care Reports (CRs) accurately and on time

* Relay critical information to hospital staff during handovers

* Ensure medical kits are stocked and emergency equipment is operational

* Perform daily checks and routine cleaning of medical tools and ambulance interiors

* Support new EMTs and interns with hands-on guidance

* Participate in drills, simulations, and skill refreshers

* Stay updated on changes in EMS protocols, equipment, and medications

* Take part in quality reviews, debriefings, and performance evaluations

* Provide feedback for improving emergency response efficiency and patient care

Educational Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited EMT training program.

* Valid certification as an Emergency Medical Technician

(EMT) at the appropriate level (e.g., EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, or EMT-Paramedic).

* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications may be required for advanced EMT roles.

* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and responsibly.

* 1-3 years of experience in pre-hospital or emergency medical settings (preferred)

Skills Required

Must-have skills:-

* Proficiency in pre-hospital emergency procedures and first responder protocols

* Hands-on experience with airway management, splinting, bleeding control, and automated defibrillators

* Understanding of triage, vital sign monitoring, and basic pharmacology

* Familiarity with ambulance equipment, oxygen delivery systems, stretchers, and suction units.
