About the Role

detail-oriented E/M Coding Auditor

coding oversight across other specialties and client accounts

Key Responsibilities

Review daily
provider charts
in NextGen EMR for coding accuracy
Audit E/M codes, preventive visits, procedures, and modifiers
Verify medical necessity and compliance with payer documentation rules
Identify coding discrepancies and communicate corrective actions to providers
Prepare
SOPs
, audit reports, and training material for teams
Collaborate with billing and denial management teams to resolve coding-related denials
Support other clients coding tasks (multi-specialty exposure preferred)

Requirements

35+ years of experience in
medical coding & auditing
(preferably E/M and PCP)
In-depth knowledge of
E/M guidelines, CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers
Experience using
NextGen EMR
(mandatory)
CPC, COC, or CPMA certification preferred
Strong analytical and documentation skills
Excellent communication and ability to work independently

Bonus Skills

Exposure to other specialties (cardiology, internal medicine, urgent care, etc.)
Experience creating
coding SOPs, audit templates, or QA checklists
Familiarity with US compliance standards and payer-specific documentation rules
