Electrical Project Manager

Role & responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Coordination

• Develop

  comprehensive project execution plans

  , including scope definition, WBS, milestones, manpower planning, and deployment schedules
• Prepare and monitor

  detailed project schedules

  using

  Primavera P6 / MS Project

• Coordinate with

  engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, and HSE teams

  to ensure seamless execution
• Track progress against baseline schedules and budgets; identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Lead

  weekly/monthly review meetings

  and prepare progress reports for management and clients
• Manage

  change management, claims, and variation orders

2. Supply Chain & Procurement Management

• Plan and manage

  end-to-end supply chain activities

  for electrical equipment and materials
• Coordinate procurement of:
• Transformers, Switchgear, RMUs
• MV/LV cables, conductors, poles, insulators, structure materials
• Protection & metering systems
• Ensure

  timely material availability

  aligned with project schedules
• Evaluate and manage

  vendors, OEMs, logistics partners, and subcontractors

• Monitor

  cost control, inventory, customs clearance, and international logistics

  (Africa import/export exposure preferred)
• Ensure compliance with

  technical specifications, quality standards, and contractual terms

3. Tendering & Pre-Contract Support

• Support

  tendering and bidding activities

  for power distribution projects in Africa
• Review

  tender documents, technical specifications, BOQs, and contract conditions

• Provide

  technical inputs, execution strategy, timelines, and cost estimates

• Coordinate with estimation, engineering, and commercial teams during

  bid preparation

• Participate in

  pre-bid meetings, technical clarifications, and negotiations

• Assist in

  risk assessment and feasibility analysis

  for new bids

4. Technical & Execution Management

• Oversee execution of:
• MV/LV distribution networks (11kV / 33kV / 66kV)
• Primary & secondary substations
• Overhead & underground distribution lines
• Ensure compliance with

  IEC / IEEE/ NFC standards and local utility regulations

• Review and approve

  design drawings, method statements, and work procedures

• Ensure adherence to

  HSE standards

  , especially in remote African project sites

5. Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the

  primary interface

  with clients, utilities, consultants, and local authorities
• Manage cross-cultural teams and local subcontractors
• Ensure client satisfaction through

  transparent communication and timely delivery

6. Testing, Commissioning & Handover

• Coordinate

  testing and commissioning

  of power distribution systems
• Ensure successful

  energization and project handover

• Manage final documentation, as-built drawings, and project close-out activities

• EPC / FIDIC Contract Knowledge
