Job Description

1. Operations & Maintenance

Oversee day-to-day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, control systems, and instrumentation.

Ensure reliability and availability of power distribution, motor control centers (MCCs), PLC/DCS systems, field instruments, and automation equipment.

Implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.

2. Project Execution

Lead and supervise installation, commissioning, and upgrading of electrical and instrumentation projects.

Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams for compliance with standards.

Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and consultants during project execution.

3. Safety & Compliance

Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety standards, statutory norms, and company policies (e.g., IEC, IS, NEC, OSHA).

Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and toolbox talks with the E&I team.

Ensure proper documentation of work permits (LOTO, hot work, confined space, etc.).

4. Team Management

Supervise and mentor engineers, supervisors, and technicians in the E&I department.

Allocate work, monitor progress, and ensure skill development through training.

Act as the key point of coordination between operations, maintenance, and production teams.

5. Reliability & Continuous Improvement

Monitor equipment performance using KPIs (MTBF, MTTR, downtime analysis).

Drive energy efficiency, automation improvements, and digitalization initiatives (e.g., SCADA, IIoT).

Recommend upgrades or replacements of obsolete equipment.

6. Budgeting & Cost Control

Prepare annual maintenance budgets for E&I.

Track expenses against budget and control spares/inventory.

Optimize resource utilization without compromising quality and safety.

7. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

Liaise with equipment suppliers, service providers, and calibration agencies.

Ensure timely procurement of spares and consumables.

Participate in vendor evaluation and technical negotiations.

8. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain records of breakdowns, maintenance logs, calibration certificates, and test reports.

Prepare MIS reports, downtime analysis, and performance dashboards for management review.

Ensure proper documentation for statutory audits (electrical inspection, calibration, ISO, PESO, etc.).

Preferred candidate profile:

Specify required role expertise, previous job experience, or relevant certifications.

Strong technical expertise in E&I systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA, VFDs, instrumentation).

Leadership and team management skills.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Vendor and stakeholder management.
