Job Description

As an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to design and implement Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) to achieve OHSAS 18001 certification. You will be required to execute data collection, sampling, analysis, and preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments for submission to Pollution Control Boards. Your role will also involve designing and implementing Safety Systems to ensure Zero Accident Plants. You will conduct various risk assessments including Health & Safety, Process Safety, Fire Safety, Machinery Safety, Ergonomics, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Behavior-Based Safety. It will be your responsibility to implement safety systems such as Permit to Work, Operational Control, Emergency Response Plan, Incident Investigation, and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment. Monitoring, assessing, and providing continuous feedback on non-compliances with safety systems like Permit to Work and personal protective equipment will be part of your daily tasks. You will also be responsible for conducting internal and external audits related to OHSAS, EMS, BSC, Fire Safety, Thermography, etc. Additionally, you will conduct trainings and toolbox talks on various safety topics to increase safety awareness among regular, casual, and contractor employees. Investigation of incidents/accidents, recommending corrective and preventive actions, organizing Site Safety Committee meetings, and ensuring timely compliance of major actions discussed in the meetings will also be part of your duties. You are expected to have expertise in testing lifting tools, tackles, and pressure vessels as per regulatory requirements. Identifying requirements, developing suitable PPEs, ensuring their acceptance, availability, and proper usage will be crucial. You will also organize safety campaigns, competitions, contests, and other activities to create awareness and interest among employees in safety. Education: - B.Sc/BA in Safety Management, Engineering, or relevant field preferred - Diploma Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Knowledge And Skills: - Data analysis and reporting - Knowledge of safety legislation and procedures - Experience in audits and preparing Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) for STP & ETP operations Experience: - 02 to 04 years of experience in manufacturing industries, with foundry experience considered an added advantage.,
