Edge Computing Engineer CCTV Support

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze

  edge device performance

  connected to client CCTV networks to ensure high availability, consistent streaming quality, and reliability.
• Provide

  technical support and troubleshooting

  for CCTV systems, including

  IP cameras, NVRs, PoE switches

  , and associated streaming infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve

  connectivity issues

  between CCTV systems and edge devices (e.g., IP conflicts, VPN configuration, latency optimization, network routing).
• Configure client cameras on edge devices to enable

  centralized, real-time monitoring

  from global command centres.
• Respond promptly to

  incidents and alerts

  to minimize downtime and maintain continuous video streaming.
• Implement

  software updates, firmware patches, and configuration adjustments

  to enhance system performance and security.
• Maintain

  security protocols and access controls

  to safeguard video data and system integrity.
• Document

  standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and network configurations

  for internal use and process consistency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in

  Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronics Engineering

  , or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in

  Linux fundamentals

  (system navigation, network tools, and basic shell scripting).
• Working knowledge of at least one programming language —

  Python preferred

  for automation and diagnostics.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills in

  distributed or resource-constrained environments

  .
• Hands-on experience with

  CCTV systems

  — including

  IP camera setup, NVR management, and video stream troubleshooting

  .
• Understanding of

  networking principles

  (TCP/IP, VPNs, subnets, latency management, IP addressing).
• Experience with

  hardware-level diagnostics

  for edge devices, cameras, switches, and related components.
• Excellent

  communication and documentation skills

  for collaboration across cross-functional and global teams.
