DTP Operator – QuarkXPress Specialist Role Objective To support daily editorial production by formatting and laying out news pages, supplements, and special editions using QuarkXPress, ensuring speed, accuracy, and visual consistency under tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities Design and format editorial pages, classified sections, and advertorials using QuarkXPress Align layouts with editorial flow, headline hierarchy, and column structure Coordinate with sub-editors, designers, and ad teams for timely page closure Ensure typographic consistency, image placement, and print-readiness Execute last-minute corrections, reflows, and updates during live production Archive daily editions and maintain version control for future reference Support special pullouts, weekend editions, and sponsored content layouts Required Skills & Competencies Expert-level QuarkXPress skills Understanding of newspaper layout grids Font management and typographic control Qualifications & Experience Diploma in DTP, Graphic Design, or Print Media
