Job Description

Position Summary:

The District Manager oversees and manages the operational, administrative, and service delivery aspects of 108 Emergency Ambulance Services within a specific district in Maharashtra. The District Manager acts as a key representative of MEMS 108 at the district level and plays a vital role in achieving operational excellence, community trust, and government compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure efficient deployment of ambulances and field personnel in the district.

Monitor KPIs, investigate deviations, and implement corrective action plans for continuous service enhancement.

Supervise EMTs, pilots, and support staff; promote training, development, and accountability.

Address public feedback, liaise with community leaders and health officials, and build awareness around EMS usage.

Track ambulance condition, fuel usage, shift schedules, and ensure uninterrupted services.

Assist in budgeting, reporting of district-level expenses, and optimizing cost-effectiveness of operations.

Ensure strict adherence to MEMS protocols, NHM guidelines, and emergency response regulations.

Act as the primary district-level point of contact between MEMS leadership, state agencies, and ground staff.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Emergency Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field

710 years of relevant experience in emergency services or healthcare management

Prior experience in the 108-emergency service ecosystem is highly preferred

Skills Required:

Must-Have Skills:

In-depth understanding of emergency response systems, public health policies, and ambulance operations

Proven leadership in managing diverse, field-based teams under challenging conditions

Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making abilities

Hands-on proficiency with EMS software, dispatch tools, and operational dashboards

Strong commitment to public service, patient care, and ethical conduct

Good-to-Have Skills:

Experience working with government agencies or NHM programs

Familiarity with community health engagement strategies

Ability to drive field audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions

Competence in preparing district reports, data presentations, and summaries

Fluency in Marathi for effective local coordination
