Job Description

1. Daily Dispatch Operations Schedule and coordinate dispatch of vehicles, drivers, or field teams. Ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods or services. Prepare and issue dispatch documents (e.g., delivery challans, invoices, trip sheets). 2. Driver & Vehicle Coordination Assign drivers and vehicles for scheduled deliveries or service calls. Communicate route plans, customer details, and instructions to drivers. Monitor driver activities via GPS or fleet tracking systems. 3. Tracking & Monitoring Track the status of deliveries in real-time. Monitor vehicle movement and ensure on-time completion. Update stakeholders (customers, managers) about delivery status. 4. Documentation & ReportingMaintain dispatch logs, delivery records, and driver reports. Record trip details, fuel usage, delays, and exceptions. Submit daily/weekly reports to management. 5. CommunicationAct as the communication link between the company, drivers, and customers. Handle customer calls regarding dispatch status or delivery issues. Relay urgent instructions or changes to drivers in real-time. 6. Problem SolvingRespond to unexpected issues such as vehicle breakdowns, route closures, or customer delays. Coordinate alternate plans in case of emergencies. Strong coordination and communication Attention to detail Basic understanding of logistics/transportation Ability to handle pressure and make quick decisions Familiarity with routes, geography, and local regulations
