Job Description

As a Director of Software Engineering at Ethoca, a Mastercard company, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to ensure the alignment of solutions with business objectives and robust architectural design principles. Your key responsibilities will include: - Overseeing and facilitating the growth of a high-performing team of software engineers through activities such as hiring, mentoring, coaching, conducting performance evaluations, and providing status updates to senior management. - Providing hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team. - Working closely with product teams to understand requirements, propose ideas, and offer technical thought leadership. - Contributing to team's agile process and decisions, driving prioritization decisions, and promoting standard software patterns and reuse of common libraries and services. - Bringing multiple engineers and/or teams together to achieve the overall objective of the proposed solution. - Ensuring adherence to Mastercard's corporate standards including coding, security, and data governance standards. - Fostering a creative atmosphere to inspire innovation and challenging norms. - Implementing effective metrics, controls, and reporting to measure progress, productivity, and quality of output for the team. - Researching, evaluating, and implementing new technologies and tools in alignment with existing products, platforms, emerging business needs, and engineering best practices. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience accepted. - Over 8 years of experience in software solutions delivery. - Experience managing teams with 10+ members. - Strong communication skills with experience in preparing and delivering executive-level presentations. - Ability to interact across multiple organizational levels and lead direction for large or complex projects. - Good understanding of data governance and regulations impacting data storage and processing solutions. - Proven track record in building highly resilient & scalable distributed systems and exposure to various database, messaging & caching technologies. - Sound knowledge of cryptography functions, CI/CD, automation, pipelines, virtualization, and containerization. - Familiarity with secure code coverage, static code analysis, web security vulnerabilities, and secure coding practices. - Enthusiasm for continuous learning and staying updated on new technology trends. Please note that this is a hybrid position, and the expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.,
