Summary:

The Director of IT - Provider Team is a key leadership role responsible for the successful delivery of application development projects and programs within the Payor - Provider domain. This role requires a strong technical background, proven leadership skills, and extensive delivery experience in the US Healthcare Payer industry, particularly within the Provider domain. The Director will lead a team of Developers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and effective resource utilization. Operating in a matrixed environment, the Director will be a skilled relationship builder, collaborating with US counterparts and other internal teams to achieve shared objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:

    • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Provider Team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Directly manage a team of approximately 5 employees, with oversight of approximately 60 total resources, including Developers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts.
    • Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching and mentoring, and support the professional development of team members.
    • Assess and identify capability gaps within the team, developing and implementing strategies to address them.
  • Delivery and Project Management:

    • Take accountability for the successful delivery of application development projects and programs within the Provider domain, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Drive the execution of projects, proactively addressing risks and issues, and escalating as needed.
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Resource Management and Planning:

    • Develop and maintain resource plans and projections, aligning resources to the right efforts.
    • Experience in demand and capacity planning and forecasting to accurately predict resource needs.
    • Coordinate with Product Owners to understand project priorities and develop resource allocation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication:

    • Work closely with US counterparts and other internal teams to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
    • Interface with various stakeholders across the organization, building strong relationships and fostering open communication.
    • Identify and communicate risks and issues to senior leadership and team members.
    • Present project status updates and other relevant information to senior leadership.
  • Technical Expertise and Strategy:

    • Maintain a strong understanding of the current technology stack (Mainframe, Java, APIs) and integrations with external vendors.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to the team, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.
    • Contribute to the development of IT strategies and roadmaps for the Provider domain.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the US Healthcare Payer industry.
  • At least 15-18 yrs of IT experience.
  • Experience within the Provider domain (Credentialing, Contracting, Directories & Provider Data Management).
  • Proven experience in leading and managing application development teams.
  • Strong delivery experience with a track record of successfully delivering projects and programs.
  • Experience with demand and capacity planning and forecasting.
  • Solid understanding of a variety of technology stacks, including Mainframe, Java, and APIs.
  • Experience working with external vendors.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
