Director - Model Validation

As a Director - Model Validation - Hybrid at Citi, you will be part of the Risk Management organization overseeing Citis risk governance framework and risk appetite. Your role will involve leading a team to perform independent review and effective challenge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) non-model objects used in Citi, including Generative AI use cases. You will also be responsible for developing Validation Guidelines for Generative AI use cases and communicating validation outcomes to senior management, Internal Audit, and external regulators. Your role will require excellent communication skills and the ability to handle staff management issues within the team/project. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead a team to conduct independent review and effective challenge for AI non-model objects (including Gen AI Objects) for Personal Bank, Wealth Management, and Global Functions. - Develop Validation Guidelines for Gen AI Objects and ensure continuous communication and training of the Sponsor / Developers of the Gen AI Objects. - Assist Head of AI Risk Review in managing AI/ML risk across all life-cycle activities. - Manage stakeholder interactions with AI/ML object developers and owners. - Contribute to strategic initiatives within the model risk management organization. - Interact with senior management to facilitate understanding of risk models. **Qualifications:** - 15+ years of experience in data analytics, model development, model validation, or risk management within global financial institutions. - Experience/familiarity with AI/ML applications, including Generative AI applications and risk management. - In-depth technical knowledge of common AI/ML techniques and risks associated with AI/ML. - Ability to collaborate with peers and stakeholders with various backgrounds. - Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver compelling presentations. - Bachelors degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, data science, AI/ML, etc. potentially Masters degree and managerial experience.
