Director-BSI Forecasting

The Head of Forecasting at Novartis will play a crucial role in leading the Forecasting function within BSI by providing strategic direction, insight-driven capabilities, and building a high-performing team. You will be responsible for developing robust forecasts that support strategic decisions across BD&L, early pipeline projects, and in-line assets. In addition, you will focus on fostering a culture of excellence, agility, and collaboration within the team, aligned with the objectives of BSI and CLS. Your major accountabilities will include defining and evolving the long-term vision for forecasting, delivering high-impact forecasts throughout the product lifecycle, leading functional excellence by implementing best practices, and building a strong team of forecasting professionals. You will champion standardization and scalability of forecasting frameworks and tools across therapeutic areas, and ensure enterprise collaboration with various departments to integrate forecasts into actionable insights. As the ideal candidate, you should possess deep expertise in forecasting techniques, scenario planning, and lifecycle modeling, along with excellent communication and influencing skills. You should have a strong understanding of therapeutic area dynamics, brand strategy, and market-specific drivers. Moreover, your experience in people management, cross-functional collaboration, data integration & analytics, strategic communication, operational excellence, leadership & team development, and servant leadership will be instrumental in your success in this role. To qualify for this position, you should hold a university degree and an MBA or professional qualification in a related field, with at least 18 years of experience in pharmaceutical forecasting, commercial analytics, or consulting. Experience in life science companies or consulting firms, along with a strong track record of influencing strategic decisions, will be advantageous. You should also have experience across the full product lifecycle, as well as expertise in engaging senior partners and leading functional transformation.
