Job Summary:

As a Direct Material Buyer for Safety Systems (Mechanical) at JSW Motors, you will be responsible for procuring mechanical components essential for vehicle safety systems. You will ensure timely sourcing of quality materials while optimizing costs and maintaining strong supplier relationships to support our manufacturing goals.

Role & responsibilities

• Source and procure mechanical components and materials required for safety systems, adhering to technical specifications and quality standards.
  
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with safety regulations.
  
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve best value.
  
• Monitor supplier performance, lead-time, and quality, and resolve any issues impacting supply chain.
  
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to understand material requirements and forecast demand.
  
• Manage purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation in compliance with company policies.
  
• Track market trends and supplier capabilities to proactively manage risks and identify alternative sources.
  
• Support inventory management and ensure alignment with production schedules to minimize delays.
  
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement process.

Preferred candidate profile

• Procurement & Negotiation:

  Expertise in vendor negotiations, cost analysis, and contract management.

• Technical Understanding:

  Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and specifications.

• Supplier Relationship Management:

  Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with suppliers.

• ERP & Procurement Tools:

  Proficiency with procurement modules in ERP systems and sourcing tools.

• Analytical Skills:

  Data-driven decision-making and risk assessment.

• Communication:

  Clear and effective communication with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders.

• Time Management:

  Prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines.

• Problem Solving:

  Quick resolution of supply chain issues or discrepancies.

• Regulatory Knowledge:

  Understanding compliance requirements for safety-related mechanical components.
