Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced outsourcing agency specializing in cost estimation for plastics, rubber, and composite materials, with a strong focus on applications in off-highway equipment, agricultural machinery, and construction equipment. The agency will develop region-specific cost models for components, ensuring cost efficiency and manufacturability across North America, LATAM, Europe, and APAC.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Technical Expertise:

• Plastics:

  Injection Molding, Blow Molding, Rotational Molding (Roto-Molding), Thermoforming, Vacuum Forming, RIM (Reaction Injection Molding), LFI (Long Fiber Injection), Foam Compression Molding

• Rubber:

  Compression, Injection & transfer Molding, rubber Extrusion, Hoses

• Composites:

  Sheet Molding Compound (SMC), Fiberglass/FRP, Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), Dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) Molding, Open Mold Composites (OMC)

• Additional Processes:

  Plastic welding, Surface treatment and painting
• Knowledge about manufacturing processes and regional supplier base for all these technologies
• Design-to-Cost and Cross-Functional Collaboration enable early concept-level estimation of part costs and tooling
• Comparative analysis among these technologies for best cost investment propositions for design & sourcing
• Proficient in tooling cost estimation across various commodities, optimizing cost accuracy and manufacturing efficiency through in-depth analysis of materials and production needs
• Exposure to tools like aPriori, MS Excel, SAP, Teamcenter, and Creo
• Supplier quotation analysis, cost breakdown validation
• Ensure cost estimation is accurately developed in alignment with the project requirements, scope, and approved methodologies
• Provide regular reports with insights into cost-saving opportunities, cost drivers, and areas for process optimization.
• Ensure accurate cost estimation deliveries and alignment with Purchasing requirements
