Job Summary:

As a Direct Material Buyer Braking at JSW Motors, you will be responsible for the procurement of braking system components essential to vehicle safety and performance. This includes sourcing, negotiation, supplier management, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials in alignment with production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure braking components (e.g. brake pads, discs, calipers, ABS components) to meet technical, quality, and safety standards.
  
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best-in-class pricing, delivery terms, and contract agreements.
  
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and quality compliance.
  
• Collaborate with engineering, R&D, quality, and production teams for material planning and specification alignment.
  
• Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery timelines; initiate corrective actions when needed.
  
• Manage purchase orders, procurement records, and documentation in ERP systems.
  
• Identify new suppliers and evaluate alternate sourcing options to mitigate risk.
  
• Contribute to inventory planning and support lean supply chain practices.
  
• Drive procurement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  
• Minimum 3 years of experience in direct material procurement, ideally in braking systems or automotive components.
  
• Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and BOMs.
  
• Proficient in ERP systems and sourcing tools.
  
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
  
• Familiarity with automotive safety regulations and quality compliance is preferred.
