Description
As an exceptional and technically astute leader, you will be responsible for establishing and scaling a global engineering center in Bangalore. In this role, you will have end-to-end ownership for the development of edge control and sensing platforms used in smart, sustainable commercial buildings. Your leadership role will require deep expertise in embedded hardware and software development, a strong understanding of building automation systems, and a proven track record in building and managing high-performing global engineering teams. You will be involved in designing, developing, and validating Distributed Digital Controllers (DDCs), environmental sensors, HVAC edge controllers, and mechanical systems integrated into the EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO) platform. To be successful in this role, you will need to build and scale the Bangalore R&D Hub, covering areas such as hardware design, embedded firmware, mechanical design, and edge software. You will be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and developing technical leaders and engineering teams. Your focus will be on driving engineering excellence with a strong emphasis on innovation, ownership, and delivery. Your technical expertise should include in-depth knowledge of embedded systems architecture, firmware development in C/C++ and emerging technologies like Rust, Linux platforms, communication protocols, sensor design, edge-to-cloud integration, and secure OTA updates. Additionally, you should have proven leadership and collaboration skills to build and lead high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams in a global environment. Strong communication skills are essential for operating across executive, technical, and customer-facing teams. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science from a recognized institution. You should have at least 15 years of experience in engineering leadership, with a strong background in building automation, HVAC control systems, industrial IoT devices, or related fields. Proven success in leading full-lifecycle product development from hardware to software to cloud is also required.
