Key Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud and hybrid cloud network architectures Lead network modernization efforts by integrating AWS cloud-native services with legacy infrastructure Serve as a technical lead in routing, switching, and network security, supporting both on-prem and cloud environments Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application development, DevOps, and security to ensure infrastructure scalability and alignment with business goals Support network automation initiatives , leveraging tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership and training across the infrastructure team Troubleshoot complex network issues affecting application performance or security posture Establish best practices for network segmentation, zoning, and security controls including firewalls, DMZs, VLANs, and load balancers Provide guidance on network-related aspects of compliance, governance, and security in a hybrid cloud model Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and evolving cloud security requirements Required Skills & Experience: 14+ years in network operational support, with at least 7+ years in large-scale enterprise or carrier environments 7+ years of hands-on experience with Layer 2/3 switching , BGP , OSPF , and IS-IS Strong background in data center (DC) architecture , including transitioning to hybrid or fully cloud-based environments Expertise with AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, etc.) Deep understanding of OSI model , IPv4/IPv6 , subnetting , routing/switching protocols , and network segmentation Hands-on experience with network security controls : firewalls, load balancers, DMZ zoning, VLANs Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code for network management (e.g., Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible) Familiarity with Linux systems and command-line network troubleshooting Strong knowledge of cloud and hybrid cloud security frameworks , including SIEM , DLP , and network perimeter hardening Ability to mentor and support internal teams and developers with network configuration and cloud connectivity Industry certifications highly desired: CCNP/CCIE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or equivalent Preferred Qualifications: Experience with multi-cloud networking (e.g., Azure, GCP) Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and microsegmentation Strong documentation and architectural diagramming skills (e.g., using Visio, Lucidchart)
