We are chemical manufacturing company looking candidate for Deputy General Manager - Logistics based at Dahej.

Position description:

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of site logistics operations (bulk+packaged), including inbound / outbound TM, WM, Tank Farm operations, Tech Materials Management, Filling and Packing operations etc. All modes of transportation.
• Drive/lead implementation of group Supply Chain strategic initiatives on the site to improve the efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
• Acting as Subject Matter Expert, continuously Monitor, analyze and report site logistics performance and identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Initiate and lead digital initiatives in Site Logistics operations
• Systematically monitor, evaluate and improve the performance of 3rd party service providers, contractors; build a robust process to manage 3PL/Contractors at site; handle non-conformance service issues; use regular audits and benchmarking techniques.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including customs regulations, transportation regulations, and environmental regulations.
• Implement strong Transport and Distribution Safety procedures in line with Responsible Care Distribution code
• Manage and mentor a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
• Prepare and present reports to senior management on logistics performance, including metrics, trends, and forecasts.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Expert knowledge of SAP OTC, TM, WM.
• Experience with international logistics, including customs regulations and international trade compliance.

Education & Experience:

Essential: Degree in Engineering + MBA (SCM /Ops) or equivalent by experience in Production, Bulk and Filling operations, having a high exposure into SCM, SLO process and information technology

Preferred: CPIM / APICS certified

Essential: 15 yrs+ Supply Chain Management, Logistics (Transportation / Warehousing / Site Logistics) in Chemicals manufacturing setup in India.

Preferred: Experience in logistics procurement, operational vendor management, tank farm operations, handling of liquid bulk, gas, engineering stores in systems driven online environment. Production, process management in areas related to this job, Good knowledge of IT / automation process capabilities for site logistics operations

• Applied experience in end-2-end supply chain and/or site logistics process management.

• Preferably already gained project leadership experience
• Good knowledge on automation and technology
