# Position: Manager - Mechanical Design Engineering PP. # Work Location: Shirwal, Pune. # Job Description: Candidate must have 10+ years of work experience, in end to end design process / cycle of packaging machines, conveyers and automation projects. # Roles & Responsibilities: Able to lead a team of mechanical design engineers working on multiple projects. Team handling, time management, good communication skills, leadership skills, guidance to the team, learning attitude, analytical skills, problem solving skills, adaptability, proactive, result oriented, self up gradation w.r.t. new tools and technologies. New project execution and design review & validation. New product & new technology development. Design & develop mechanical system solutions based on engineering principles. Support design decisions with analysis and calculations, as required. Participate in peer to peer design reviews and provide critical feedback to sub-ordinates & colleagues. Drafting of mechanical components and sub-assemblies in solid edge 3D software. Provide 3D modelling in Solid edge for all solutions developed. Design calculations for desired mechanical parameters e.g. force, stress, deflection, torque, power, gear ratio, belt speed, RPM, etc. Selection of standard parts required for assembly of machines (e.g. bearings, drive motor, gearbox, pneumatic cylinders and components, LM guides and Ball screws, electrical and mechanical sensors, etc.) Provide technical support and guidance to assembly team to ensure proper machine assembly and functionality. Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases. Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed. Create accurate Bills of Material documentation on PLM & ERP system. Selection of appropriate material and processes for designed parts. Identification and selection of technology and off the shelf solutions that can be implemented to achieve the project goals. Mechanical design of customized solutions including; motor sizing, pneumatic/electro pneumatic and electrical routing. Provide hands on assembly assistance and precise measurement techniques in order to collect data and identify root causes of machine bring-up issues. Knowledge & experience of using DFA, DFM & DFMEA tools. Involvement in new component development at vendor end, as & when required.
