Design Manager – Mechanical Engineering

Education: Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: Minimum 15 years in Design (Compulsory)

Location: Pune / PCMC

Responsibilities:

• Use AutoCAD and SolidWorks for design work.
• Lead and guide a team of Design Engineers.
• Develop design concepts based on project requirements.
• Perform technical engineering calculations for cylinders, PPK, hydraulic and structural components.
• Prepare and review technical drawings and BOMs.
• Check and finalize design and material specifications for tenders.
• Plan and allocate work within the design team.
• Maintain all design records, reports and documentation.
• Improve design based on project learnings and customer feedback.
• Train and mentor the team on new technology and design methods.
• Ensure all designs meet engineering standards and quality norms.

Skills:

• Strong product design and problem-solving ability.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Organized and time-efficient.
• Sound knowledge of design principles, hydraulics and industry practices

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and experience in Engineering Management
• Proven expertise in Project Management and Team Leadership
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and other engineering design tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and organizational aptitude
• Familiarity with quality assurance processes and modern manufacturing technologies
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Prior experience in the material handling equipment industry is advantageous
• Ability to work on-site in Haveli and manage cross-functional engineering teams
