Job Description

Role Summary

The Design Manager Design & NPD will lead product design, improvement, and new

product development for Cosmos Pumps. The role involves designing next-generation

pumps, improving existing models, creating new variants for domestic & international

markets, and driving innovation aligned with company growth.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Engineering

Lead the design of Submersible Dewatering (CDW), Slurry (CSL), Sewage (CSW), Non-Clog (CNC), Drainage Pumps, and Surface/AutoPrime pumps.

Perform 2D/3D modeling, hydraulic calculations, and structural analysis.
Conduct simulations and create drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing specs.

New Product Development (NPD)

Identify product gaps and develop new pump models/variants.
Create export-compliant designs for international markets.
Lead proto development, testing, and validation.

Product Improvement & Cost Optimization

Improve efficiency, durability, and serviceability.
Optimize materials and reduce cost through design simplification.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Collaborate with Production, Quality, Sales, Rental & Service teams.
Provide support for troubleshooting, tenders, and customization.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain design documents, BOMs, and manuals.
Ensure ISO, BIS, and CE compliance.

Innovation & R&D

Develop IoT-enabled smart pumps and high-efficiency designs.
Work on modular, rental-friendly systems and predictive-maintenance features.

Skills and Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications

B.Tech/M.Tech Mechanical Engineering.

8 15 years in pump design or rotating machinery.

Expertise in pump hydraulics, impeller design, sealing, materials.
Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with FEA/CFD.

Soft Skills:

Strong leadership, documentation, and analytical abilities.
