Role Overview: As the Design Manager for Design & NPD at Cosmos Pumps, you will be responsible for leading product design, improvement, and new product development. Your role will involve designing next-generation pumps, enhancing existing models, creating new variants for both domestic and international markets, and driving innovation to support the company's growth. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design of various pumps including Submersible Dewatering (CDW), Slurry (CSL), Sewage (CSW), Non-Clog (CNC), Drainage Pumps, and Surface/AutoPrime pumps. - Conduct 2D/3D modeling, hydraulic calculations, and structural analysis. - Perform simulations, create drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing specifications. - Identify product gaps and develop new pump models/variants for the market. - Develop export-compliant designs for international markets. - Lead prototype development, testing, and validation processes. - Improve efficiency, durability, and serviceability of the pumps. - Optimize materials and reduce costs through design simplification. - Collaborate with various teams including Production, Quality, Sales, Rental & Service for cross-functional coordination. - Provide support for troubleshooting, tenders, and customization. - Maintain design documents, BOMs, and manuals for documentation purposes. - Ensure compliance with ISO, BIS, and CE standards. - Work on developing IoT-enabled smart pumps and high-efficiency designs. - Focus on modular, rental-friendly systems and predictive-maintenance features. Qualifications Required: - Education: B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. - Experience: 8-15 years in pump design or rotating machinery. - Technical Skills: Expertise in pump hydraulics, impeller design, sealing, materials. Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with FEA/CFD. - Soft Skills: Strong leadership, documentation, and analytical abilities.
