Design Engineer - Solid works & Plastics

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Design Engineer with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in SolidWorks and plastic part design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing plastic components and assemblies for our innovative product lines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet functionality, manufacturability, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop 3D models and 2D drawings of plastic components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Work closely with product development, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
• Conduct tolerance analysis, DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly), and plastic material selection based on application.
• Modify and update existing designs based on feedback, testing, or engineering changes.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of plastic parts.
• Review and release engineering drawings and documentation.
• Collaborate with suppliers and toolmakers during mold design and development.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on design improvements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in product design, with a strong focus on plastic components.
• Proficient in SolidWorks (Part modeling, Assembly, Drafting, and Surfacing).
• Good understanding of injection molding processes, tool design basics, and plastic material behavior.
• Knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawing standards, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience with design validation and testing is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
