Design Engineer- Refractory

Role Overview

The Design Engineer will be responsible for preparing detailed refractory lining and installation drawings using AutoCAD (2D & 3D), ensuring designs meet client specifications, project requirements, and industry standards. The role involves close coordination with the project, production, and site teams to deliver accurate and practical engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed refractory lining layouts, sectional drawings, and 3D models using AutoCAD.
• Prepare manufacturing and installation drawings for furnaces, kilns, ladles, boilers, and other industrial equipment.
• Interpret client specifications, technical documents, and project requirements into precise engineering drawings.
• Create Bill of Materials (BOM) based on approved designs.
• Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and production teams to ensure designs are feasible for manufacturing and installation.
• Make necessary design modifications based on feedback from clients or site conditions.
• Assist in preparing technical proposals, design presentations, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company quality standards, client requirements, and applicable codes.
• Maintain version control and proper documentation for all design files.
• Conduct design checks to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Ceramic / Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• 25 years of experience in refractory design and drafting.
• Proficient in

  AutoCAD 2D & 3D

  ; knowledge of other CAD software is an advantage.
• Understanding of refractory materials, lining techniques, and industrial equipment design.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 documentation requirements is desirable.
