Job Title: Tool Design Engineer (Sheet Metal)
Department: Tool Room / Design
Location: [New Swan Enterprises, Gill Road, Ludhiana]
Reporting To: Tool Room Head / Design Manager
Experience Required: 2–8 Years (preferably in sheet metal industry)
Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical
*Key Responsibilities* :
Design and development of sheet metal tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for automotive and industrial components.
Prepare and release 2D drawings, 3D models, and die assembly layouts using CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
Conduct feasibility analysis of new components based on manufacturability and tooling capability.
Optimize tool design for cycle time, accuracy, and tool life improvement.
Prepare and maintain BOM (Bill of Material), design documentation, and tool maintenance records.
Support new product development (NPD) activities from design to tool commissioning.
Handle vendor development for tool manufacturing and ensure timely delivery.
Provide technical support in tryout and troubleshooting of press tools.
*Required Skills:*
Strong knowledge of press tool design (progressive, compound, and stage tools).
Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA / NX / SolidWorks / AutoCAD).
Understanding of sheet metal processes — blanking, piercing, bending, forming, and deep drawing.
Good understanding of press machines, die maintenance, and tool trial processes.
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred:
Experience in automotive sheet metal components or OEM/Tier-1 suppliers.
Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and FMEA documentation.
Exposure to value engineering and tool cost estimation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
