Design Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our R&D team at

Make3D, a leading company in the 3D printing industry. The successful candidate will be

responsible for designing, developing, and optimising mechanical systems and components for

next-generation 3D printing technologies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on

cutting-edge additive manufacturing solutions and contribute to the advancement of 3D printing

technology.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

• Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for 3D printing equipment, including extruders, print heads, motion systems, and structural frameworks
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications using industry-standard software (Siemens NX, PTC Creo)
• Conduct feasibility studies and design reviews to evaluate concepts and optimise performance. Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept models for testing and validation
• Conduct reverse engineering of existing products and competitive analysis to identify design improvements and technological advancements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1-4 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in 3D printing, robotics, or precision machines.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, motion systems, gear design, and material properties.
• Experience with prototyping, 3D printing, CNC, or manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
