Design Director

Role Overview: At Gensler, you will be part of a team that designs for people, leveraging a global perspective and local presence to innovate at every scale. As a Design Director for Commercial Office/Residential/Mixed-Use Office Building practice areas, you will provide creative and design process leadership to multiple design teams throughout client projects. Your role will involve leading design efforts, developing next-generation talent, and helping clients reimagine what's possible in architectural environments. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and mentor design teams - Lead creative efforts on client architecture projects from concept development to installation - Orchestrate and strategize design presentations - Collaborate with practice leaders to enhance design excellence and elevate quality - Improve work quality, delivery methods, and processes - Foster client relationships and act as the primary design interface - Participate in business development and marketing efforts - Promote interdisciplinary design approach and philosophy across the firm - Contribute to the growth and success of architectural projects Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Architecture; Master's degree preferred - 18+ years of experience in commercial office building projects - Experience in Residential/Mixed-Use design and international projects is a plus - Understanding of master planning and site planning for architectural projects - Strong communication and storytelling skills - Leadership experience in managing teams and client relationships - Knowledge of sustainable design principles and relevant certifications - Experience with sustainable design projects and local codes/regulations - Portfolio showcasing built work and design technology skills Additional Company Details: Gensler is committed to sustainability in the built environment through initiatives like Gensler Cities Climate Challenge (GC3).
