Job Description – Design & Analysis Internship (UGC Credit-Based)

Organization: MARS Exploration – Mahamanav Aerospace & Research Space Exploration Pvt. Ltd.

Mode: Online / Hybrid

Duration: 12 Weeks (Aligned with UGC Credit Framework)

Eligible Departments: Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Automotive, Robotics, Mechatronics, Civil, Electrical (select topics), Applied Sciences.

About the Internship

The Design & Analysis Internship is a UGC Credit-Compliant program designed to give students practical experience in engineering design, CAD modeling, and structural analysis.

This internship focuses on two major industry tools:

  • SolidWorks for 3D modeling
  • ANSYS Workbench for FEA and engineering simulations

The program bridges academic principles with real-world industry applications in aerospace, mechanical, and multidisciplinary engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will learn and work on:

1. SolidWorks (CAD Modelling)
  • Create 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings
  • Apply materials, mates, constraints, and motion studies
  • Model components such as brackets, mechanical parts, UAV structures, and aerospace components
  • Perform basic simulations (SolidWorks Simulation)
2. ANSYS Workbench (Design Analysis & FEA)
  • Geometry cleanup & import from SolidWorks
  • Meshing, boundary conditions, and solver setup
  • Conduct static structural, thermal, and modal analysis
  • Evaluate stress, deformation, safety factors, and thermal gradients
  • Interpret simulation results and prepare analysis reports
General Responsibilities
  • Work on mini-projects + one major capstone project
  • Follow engineering standards and design methodologies
  • Submit weekly tasks and maintain project documentation
  • Prepare technical reports suitable for university/UGC credit submission
  • Participate in live mentor sessions and Q/A discussions

By the end of this internship, students will:

  • Develop strong 3D modelling skills using SolidWorks
  • Understand structural and thermal analysis using ANSYS Workbench
  • Apply Strength of Materials & Engineering Mechanics concepts
  • Gain practical knowledge for aerospace, mechanical, and multidisciplinary design
  • Build an industry-ready portfolio of CAD models & FEA simulations
  • Improve analytical thinking, engineering creativity, and documentation skills
  • Meet academic requirements for UGC Credit-Based internship
Projects Covered (Samples)
  • SolidWorks model + ANSYS analysis of UAV wing rib or fuselage bracket
  • Static analysis of a robotic arm link or mechanical bracket
  • Thermal analysis of a heat sink or electronic component
  • Modal analysis of a mechanical beam or plate
  • Auto component design + analysis
  • Capstone project (student’s choice or mentor-guided)
