Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned professional to lead the Trim Shop operations, focusing on interior fitment and assembly of commercial electric vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in vehicle interiors, people management, and quality assurance, with a hands-on approach to continuous improvement and production excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day production operations in the Trim Shop, including seating, flooring, panels, wiring harness routing, dashboard assembly, and interior fit-outs.
  
• Ensure timely execution of production schedules with high adherence to quality standards.
  
• Coordinate installation of components such as HVAC units, infotainment systems, lighting, and other interior features.
  
• Collaborate with Design, R&D, and Quality teams for fitment validation and resolution of design-related concerns.
  
• Drive process improvements using Lean, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies.
  
• Implement standard work procedures, work instructions, and SOPs for various trim processes.
  
• Monitor and control takt time, manpower productivity, and line balancing.
  
• Address and resolve quality issues such as fitment gaps, squeaks & rattles, and aesthetic defects.
  
• Lead and motivate a team of engineers, supervisors, and operators for enhanced team performance.
  
• Ensure workplace safety, compliance with ISO/IATF standards, and proper use of PPE and ergonomics.
  
• Manage inventory levels of trim components and coordinate with SCM for timely availability of parts.
  

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of vehicle trim and interior assembly processes.
  
• Working knowledge of BOM, 2D/3D drawings, and trim component design.
  
• Problem-solving skills in quality and fitment issues using tools like 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and PDCA.
  
• Excellent team leadership, coordination, and communication abilities.
  
• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
  
• Familiarity with ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949, and EMS standards.
