Job Description

Role Objective:

To lead and oversee quality assurance and control functions for substation and transmission line projects from the corporate office, ensuring compliance with client specifications, statutory norms, international standards, and internal quality systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Management System:


    • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards and any other relevant certifications.
    • Conduct periodic internal audits and ensure timely closure of NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
  1. Project Quality Planning:

    • Prepare Project Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality procedures submitted by project teams.
    • Support site teams in establishing project-specific quality control mechanisms.
    • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to integrate quality into all phases of project execution.
    • Support the site quality team for civil works and ensure 100% compliance as per approved FQP for power transmission projects (Sub Station & Transmission Line)- For Civil
    • Stage & Final Inspection (FAT) Witness or Co-ordination with TPIA. - For Electrical.
  2. Vendor Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct vendor evaluations and audits to ensure quality compliance in procurement.
    • Monitor third-party inspections and test certifications for critical materials and equipment.
    • Resolve quality issues with vendors and take corrective/preventive actions.
    • Visit to site periodically and ensure 100% compliance for FQP at site.
  3. Quality Monitoring & Compliance:

    • Track quality performance indicators across projects.
    • Conduct quality surveillance visits and audits at project sites.
    • Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  4. Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain centralized records of quality documentation, test reports, and audit findings.
    • Prepare and submit periodic quality performance reports to top management.
    • Lead root cause analysis and implementation of CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action).
  5. Training & Development:

    • Develop and deliver quality training modules for site QA/QC engineers.
    • Promote quality culture across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:

    B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Civil / Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience:

    7 to 15 years of experience in QA/QC for Transmission/Substation projects; minimum 3 to 5 years in a managerial role at the corporate level.
