Deputy Manager Mechanical Engineer

We are hiring a Mechanical Engineer in CMG in Cipla Ltd at Mumbai, Lower Parel location.

Job Responsibilities:

• Material management:

  Identify the design requirements, material selection criteria, identify suitable materials for various process & utility equipment. Provide Pros & Cons and advice sites on selection of materials.

• Equipment & piping design:

  Prepare URS before procurement of new equipment at site. Develop standard for selection for appropriate sizing of piping. Develop & maintain data base of all P&IDs across the organisation as per standards.

• Participation in HAZID / HAZOP:

  Should participate actively in HAZOP studies as a CFT member & provide inputs related to mechanical engineering.

• Corrosion strategy:

  Develop a corrosion management standard for Cipla. Effectively implement the standard after development.

• Risk based inspection:

  Coaching & mentoring inspectors, corrosion engineers, reliability engineers and process engineers in the development and application of RBI. Define RBI competency per functional role to enable the sites in implementing the Corrosion Management Policy. Custodian of RBI competency profiles.

• Pressurized equipment integrity:

  To ensure inspection of activities and direct the inspection personnel. To drive risk-based inspection activities on site. Metric reporting, corporate and local. Engineering data & documentation: Ensure site readiness for regulatory audits. Ensure that there are no backlogs/deviations in the respective month against the target justified in KPIs.

• Management of SOPs:

  To harmonize the site SOPs into corporate SOP so that the procedures shall be followed uniformly at all locations of Cipla. Timely updating of site SOPs as per plan.
• Assist in technical review of proposals for mechanical discipline. This includes process equipment for API and formulations, piping design, HVAC design, utility equipment design, firefighting systems design.
• Awareness about international standards like ASME, ISO, ANSI, ASTM, BS, IS.

• Equipment retiral policy:

  Check healthiness of equipments and sort out the equipments based on the risk ranking which are near to end of life.

• Upgradation of designs:

  Identify & recommend alternate/ improved metallurgies to various projects & existing assets.
