About us: The Council for Southeast Asian Development ( CSEAD ) is a non-governmental organisation (NGO), re-established in 2024 with origins dating back to 1923, that promotes Southeast Asian cooperation, development, and information exchange. The CSEAD was formalised with the signing of the CSEAD Declaration by founding summit members. The organisation is structured into three General Directorates: the General Directorate of Intelligence, Statistics and Information (GDISI), the General Directorate of Research and Development (GDRD), and the General Directorate of Strategy, Planning and Coordination (GDSPC). About the role: The Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Intelligence, Statistics and Information (GDISI) will support the India Region Executive Committee of the Council for Southeast Asian Development (CSEAD) and serve as Head of the Permanent Munipur Office. The appointment will be based in Manipur but may require frequent domestic as well as foreign travel. The scope of the role may change over time, with the assumption of further responsibilities. The Deputy Director General will manage and hold responsibility for staff within their own hierarchical structure, ensuring strategic and operational alignment, and cultivating continuous good relations with a diverse array of stakeholders. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the Directorate for Information Exchange (DIE), whose purpose is to expand established encyclopaedias, statistical data, and provide specific source material. Qualifications: University degree (minimum equivalent to a bachelor’s degree), preferably in a relevant field such as business administration, economics, or international relations. 10 years of relevant work experience, with five of those years in a managerial role and a proven record of people management and the ability to motivate members. Experience in highly competitive professions or fields, including finance, IT, and consultancy, will also be taken into account. Personal and professional credibility, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage confidential information and operations. C1 Advanced level English proficiency is a necessary requirement. Knowledge of Meitei, Bengali, and other Asiatic languages will be taken into consideration and is seen as highly advantageous.
