Deputy Director - Design: Required Experience: 8.0-15.0y. Provide a detailed overview of the role, focusing on key responsibilities and the impact of the position. Roles and Responsibilities: Lead Design Development for luggagebackpacks. Added experience on wallets, watches, mens jewellery, and other accessories. Trend Forecasting Concept Creation: Stay ahead of global trends, consumer insights, and cultural shifts to drive forward-looking and commercially viable design concepts. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of designers; provide clear direction, delegate tasks effectively, and nurture a high-performance creative culture. Product Innovation: Push boundaries with materials, construction, and detailing; demonstrate deep knowledge of polycarbonate, fabrications, hardware, and finishing techniques used in luggage and accessories. Range Planning Line Architecture: Strategically build and structure product ranges aligned with brand identity and market demands balancing hero products, fashion-forward SKUs, and volume drivers. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with merchandising, marketing, e-commerce, sourcing, and production teams to ensure a cohesive product vision and smooth execution from concept to market. Vendor Manufacturer Coordination: Collaborate with domestic and international vendors for prototyping, sampling, material sourcing, and quality assurance. Presentation Storytelling: Create compelling concept boards, collection narratives, and product presentations to align internal stakeholders and enhance customer-facing content. Design Calendar Management: Own and drive the seasonal design calendar, ensuring timely deliveries of concepts, tech packs, and samples for all categories. Consumer-Centric Mindset: Balance aesthetics with ergonomics, pricing, and target consumer needs especially in the digital-first retail environment. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accessories Design. 8+ years of experience in a design leadership role, preferably in a creative agency or design studio. Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and other design software. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects across different industries and platforms.
