Purpose/Objective


    The Construction Dy. Manager - Plant is responsible for supporting and managing construction activities related to plant facilities, OSBL areas, and utilities. This role focuses on the execution of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety protocols. The position involves resource optimization, stakeholder coordination, compliance monitoring, and risk management to contribute to seamless project delivery and support the Construction Manager in achieving overall project objectives.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    Construction Dy. Manager - Plant-PETCHEM Site Operations & Oversight: Deliver timely and high-quality construction outcomes by managing daily activities for plant facilities, OSBL areas, and utilities in alignment with project plans. Eliminate operational delays by addressing site-specific challenges in coordination with engineers, supervisors, and contractors. Ensure contractor compliance and payment accuracy through thorough validation of claims and adherence to technical and contractual requirements. Drive continuous project progress by monitoring site operations and resolving bottlenecks. Project Planning & Coordination: Optimize resource allocation by planning manpower, materials, and equipment in alignment with approved schedules and project requirements. Foster seamless project integration by collaborating with internal units and external partners to align construction activities with broader project objectives. Technical Design Review: Ensure construction accuracy and compliance by reviewing and validating engineering drawings and resolving design conflicts proactively. Minimize rework and delays by identifying potential issues early in the design review phase. Compliance, Quality & Safety Management: Achieve zero safety incidents by enforcing rigorous adherence to safety regulations, permits, and PPE requirements. Ensure project quality and regulatory compliance through regular audits and adherence to health and safety standards. Control budget and maintain cost efficiency by monitoring expenditures and addressing variances promptly. Budget & Cost Control: Maintain financial integrity by validating contractor payments and monitoring expenditures within approved budgets. Achieve cost-efficient project execution by analyzing variances and taking corrective measures where needed. Risk & Change Management: Reduce project risks by identifying potential challenges and implementing proactive mitigation strategies. Minimize scope creep and cost overruns by documenting and managing changes to the project scope effectively. Technology Integration & Innovation: Enhance operational efficiency by adopting advanced construction tools and technologies. Deliver optimized project outcomes by leveraging modern construction practices such as modular construction and lean principles. Reporting & Coordination: Ensure informed decision-making by providing regular progress updates to the Construction Manager and other stakeholders. Facilitate coordinated execution by maintaining strong links with internal departments and external partners. Team Management: Build a high-performing team by supervising and mentoring engineers, fostering skill development, and addressing performance issues. Enhance team capabilities through ongoing training and professional development initiatives. Qualifications and Experience


    Educational Qualification: Bachelor's / Diploma degree in any engineering discipline Work Experience (Range of years): 18-20 Years for bacehlor degree and 15 years for Diploma of relevant work experience to lead multi disciplinary construction work with 5 years minimum in the similar role in a large / mid sized organization Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders (Internal and External). Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as knowledge of codes, standards and various acts. Exposure of planning, budgeting and work estimation Strong People Management skills along with exposure in managing large teams (Team size including Direct as well as indirect reports > 40)
