Job Description: Deputy Head of Clinical Operations (Deputy HCO)

Educational Qualifications

1. B.Sc. Nursing + MHA preferred OR

2. Masters degree in nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Management, or relevant field

3. 9-10 years’ experience in senior nursing or clinical operations roles (Nursing Superintendent-

level preferred).

Key Responsibilities

A. Clinical Oversight & Rounds

1. Conduct daily clinical rounds across facilities and report HCO with report

2. Review resident condition, nursing care quality, medication practices, infection control

protocols.

3. Ensure timely escalation to HCO and treating doctors.

4. Monitor care for dementia, behavioural symptoms, chronic illnesses, and post-operative

needs.

B. Documentation & Audit Management

1. Audit nursing notes, vitals, medication charts.

2. Audit care plans, incident reports, infection control logs.

3. Ensure compliance with Epoch SOPs and NABH standards.

4. Provide corrective training for documentation gaps.

C. Quality Indicators (QI) & Dashboard Monitoring

1. Maintain and analyse QI dashboard.

2. Track fall rate, infection rate, hospitalizations, medication errors.

3. Identify trends and initiate CAPA.

4. Ensure timely and accurate facility data submission.

D. Policy Implementation & Clinical Governance

1. Ensure adherence to all clinical SOPs.

2. Support SOP revision and roll-out.

3. Train staff in emergency response, dementia care, infection control, and documentation.

4. Promote clinical excellence and accountability.

E. Staff Supervision & Training

1. Support onboarding.

2. Mentor nursing team leaders.

3. Coordinate with Facility Managers on operational needs.

F. Family & Physician Coordination

1. Assist in communication with families.

2. Coordinate with physicians, physiotherapists, psychologists, EMS.

3. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings.

G. Operational Support

1. Ensure facility readiness for move-ins and emergencies.

2. Oversee medical inventory, oxygen systems, emergency trolleys.

3. Support digital tool usage
