About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Billing Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of dental billing, including Eligibility & Benefits, insurance claim submission, payment posting, account reconciliation, and patient account management. This role requires a strong understanding of dental insurance plans, CDT codes, and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).

Key Responsibilities

• Eligibility & Benefits
• Prepare, submit, and follow up on electronic and paper dental insurance claims.
• Review EOBs, post payments and adjustments with accuracy.
• Verify patient eligibility and insurance benefits.
• Process pre-authorizations, appeals, and claim denials.
• Communicate effectively with insurance companies and patients regarding billing inquiries and balances.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient financial records while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with front office and clinical staff to ensure correct documentation and coding.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of proven experience in dental billing or dental insurance processing.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, CDT coding, and claims submission.
• Proficiency in dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Practice-Web).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to work under deadlines.
• Thorough understanding of HIPAA and insurance regulations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) follow-up and collections.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
