Denim Designer

Minimum Job Requirements

Bachelors in fashion design.

Exp: 4-5 years preferred.

Thorough knowledge of denim washes/trends

Responsibilities:

1. Doing thorough research for any season and adapting trends and forecast as per the market requirement.

2. Creating or visualizing an idea and producing flat sketches or computer-aided design (CAD) using software like Corel draw or adobe illustrator.

3. Strong understanding of the denim process from trend, pulling wash standards, building wash ranges, wash comments and shadebands.

4. Understanding of how to fit denim.

5. Working with cross-functional teams such as merchandising, tech, quality, sales, marketing etc., to develop products to meet a brief.

6. Understanding of fabric performance from stretch levels to indigo.

7. Sourcing, selecting and buying fabrics, trims, fastenings and embellishments.

8. Adapting existing designs for mass production.

9. Understanding the complications of garment construction and help the team in the creation of these, including fitting, detailing and adaptations.

1. Oversee product development and ensure timely development of samples.
