Job Description

As the Dean of Student Welfare at Vivekananda Global University (VGU) in Jaipur, your role is crucial in creating a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment for students. You will oversee various aspects of student life to promote their well-being, holistic growth, and active engagement in university activities. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement programs for holistic student development and personality growth. - Organize and supervise co-curricular, cultural, and recreational activities on campus and in hostels. - Encourage student participation in campus clubs, societies, and external events. - Plan educational tours, excursions, and experiences beyond the academic curriculum. - Organize and support the Student Council and Sports Council. - Facilitate student representation in university committees. - Provide mentorship to student leaders. - Supervise the Student Counseling Cell for mental health services. - Establish peer support networks and grievance redressal mechanisms. - Maintain communication with parents/guardians for student welfare. - Implement student discipline policies with fairness. - Investigate disciplinary cases while ensuring confidentiality. - Maintain a safe and congenial environment on campus and in hostels. - Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion among students. - Support international and underrepresented students. - Ensure safety, hygiene, and positive residential experience in hostels. - Ensure access to medical support and emergency response. - Collaborate with wellness professionals and healthcare providers. - Lead the development of AEC/VAC courses under NEP. - Serve as the academic head for these courses. - Develop student welfare policies in compliance with UGC guidelines. - Act as a liaison between student organizations and university administration. - Prepare and submit reports on student welfare initiatives. Qualifications & Experience: - Masters Degree with at least 55% marks from a recognized university. - Minimum 15 years of teaching and/or administrative experience in higher education. - Demonstrated leadership in student welfare or co-curricular administration. - Strong understanding of UGC norms related to student affairs.
