DCS Engineer

The Engineer is responsible for the design and analysis of safety and non safety

related Instrumentation & Controls systems under the direction of a

senior engineer and regularly interfacing with the Chemical\process,

mechanical, and electrical engineering teams for I&C design and consultation.

This Engineer applies his or her knowledge and experience, industry best

practices, regulatory guidance, codes and standards, and good engineering

judgment to ensure the design is compliant with International standards and

industry best practices.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop Controls Logics & HMI in DCS/PLC as per customer requirement.
• Preparation and review of Instrumentation Datasheets, Hookup drawings, field wiring, JB Layouts, CBD, Instrument list, and P&ID's.
• Assist project manager in preparing schedule of deliverables and report any project risk, as they occur.
• Involve in detailed Instrumentation engineering activities of any process.
• Develop instrumentation engineering schedule, development of resource plans.
• Shall interact with other stakeholders and discipline engineers to understand and implement design interfaces in assigned project
• Shall follow the defined QC process and ensure executed work meet QC requirements.
• Shall be ready and enthusiastic to learn new design tools and techniques and be flexible in working on different projects and with diverse teams.
• Shall work to meet defined productivity benchmarks and meet project delivery requirements.

Mandatory skills:

• Exposure to Basic engineering, Detailed engineering of Control systems & Field instrumentation for Power plants is strongly advantageous.
• Developing Control Logics in DCS\PLC (Ovation, Allen Bradley preferred, Honeywell, Yokogawa, Siemens, Mitsubishi acceptable) systems based on SAMA sheets. Experience in systems Ovation DCS is a must.
• Developing Graphics in DCS\PLC HMI systems based on control narratives.
• Control test case/Instruction development and perform logic & graphics testing (Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT)).
• Develop User Requirement Specifications.
• Review of Functional requirements, generation of System Design Specification, preparing of Technical Reports & Generate Requirement Traceability Matrix.

• Develop electrical & control panel schematics.

• Assist with estimates of man-hours required to complete projects.
