Your Team Responsibilities
MSCIs DataDesk team is responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and governance of vendor and internal datasets that power our global indexes and analytics products We are seeking a highly skilled DataDesk Functional Owner who will lead data governance, onboarding, and validation initiatives, while driving innovation in data analysis using AI and automation This role requires a blend of technical expertise, financial markets knowledge, and leadership capability to ensure MSCI delivers world-class data quality and insights to clients, Your Key Responsibilities Data Governance & Quality Ensure vendor and internal data meet MSCIs rigorous data standards for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with governance frameworks, Define and implement processes for resolving data quality issues such as duplication, inaccuracies, and missing values, Oversee the development of benchmarks and validation rules to support index production and other new product development, Data Onboarding & Operations Manage onboarding of large-scale datasets from external vendors and internal sources, ensuring seamless integration into MSCI systems, Conduct vendor due diligence and maintain trusted relationships with data providers, Collaborate with product and index teams to assess the impact of corporate actions and market events on benchmark indexes, Innovation & AI in Data Leverage AI techniques (, ChatGPT, machine learning) to enhance data analysis, validation, and automation capabilities, Explore and implement emerging technologies to strengthen MSCIs data ecosystem, Leadership & Collaboration Lead and mentor a high-performing data science and operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning, Partner with global stakeholders across product, technology, and operations to align on data strategy and execution, Drive cross-functional projects to deliver high-quality, scalable, and efficient data solutions, Your Skills And Experience That Will Help You Excel Education: MBA (Finance / Business / Statistics / Equivalent); CFA or advanced certifications a plus, Experience: 10+ years in data governance, data operations, or financial index production with exposure to fixed income and equity markets, Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Power BI for data analysis and visualization, Experience with AI/ML tools and their application in data quality improvement, Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of index construction, securities data, and financial products, Familiarity with Bloomberg, Reuters, and market data systems, Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills, About MSCI What we offer you Transparent compensation schemes and comprehensive employee benefits, tailored to your location, ensuring your financial security, health, and overall wellbeing, Flexible working arrangements, advanced technology, and collaborative workspaces, A culture of high performance and innovation where we experiment with new ideas and take responsibility for achieving results, A global network of talented colleagues, who inspire, support, and share their expertise to innovate and deliver for for ongoing skills development, Multi-directional career paths that offer professional growth and development through new challenges, internal mobility and expanded roles, We actively nurture an environment that builds a sense of inclusion belonging and connection, including eight Employee Resource Groups All Abilities, Asian Support Network, Black Leadership Network, Climate Action Network, Hola!
