About the Job

As a Technical Service Manager for Databricks at Allianz, you will lead the delivery and operational excellence of our Databricks service. This role requires technical expertise in cloud-based data platforms and a strategic mindset to ensure service reliability, scalability, and compliance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive customer success, manage risks, and align service delivery with business objectives. You will also ensure that Databricks services adhere to these standards such as COBIT, ISO/IEC 27001, and the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) by implementing robust governance, risk management, and compliance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of Databricks services, including planning, deployment, and continuous improvement.
• Manage incident, problem, and change management processes to ensure minimal disruption and high availability.
• Monitor service performance, define KPIs, and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and vendor teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
• Ensure compliance with internal governance, security standards, and external regulatory requirements.
• Lead service reviews, provide strategic recommendations, and mentor team members to foster growth.
• Drive automation and operational efficiency through Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience managing technical services or projects in cloud-based environments, preferably Databricks.
• Deep understanding of Databricks architecture, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Lakehouse patterns.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices for IT Service Management.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience in risk management, compliance, and governance within large enterprise environments.
• In-depth understanding and practical experience with leading control frameworks and regulations, including COBIT, ISO/IEC 27001, and the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).
• Familiarity with audit requirements, evidence collection, and regulatory reporting is essential.
