Database Administrator

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in MySQL 8+ and PostgreSQL. As a DBA, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and optimizing large-scale database systems. Your role will involve working in high-availability environments, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and implementing database security best practices. Your key responsibilities will include designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining MySQL 8+ and PostgreSQL database systems across various environments. You will also be architecting and implementing high availability, clustering, replication, and disaster recovery solutions. Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning and optimization strategies will be crucial aspects of your role. Ensuring data security, integrity, and compliance through access controls, encryption, and backup strategies will also be part of your responsibilities. You will troubleshoot complex database issues, conduct root cause analysis, and provide permanent resolutions. Collaboration with application and DevOps teams to optimize database schemas, queries, and stored procedures is essential. Implementing and maintaining monitoring and alerting systems for database health and performance will be required. Managing scaling strategies to support large-scale, high-volume applications and documenting standards and procedures for database management and disaster recovery are also key responsibilities. To be successful in this role, you should have at least 8 years of professional experience as a DBA in large-scale environments. Strong expertise in MySQL 8+ and PostgreSQL administration is a must. Hands-on experience with replication and clustering, proficiency in performance tuning, experience with backup & recovery tools, and knowledge of high availability & disaster recovery are essential. Familiarity with NoSQL databases and cloud-based DB services is a plus. Strong understanding of database security best practices, proficiency in Linux system administration related to database hosting, and scripting skills for automation are required. Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization is also beneficial. Preferred qualifications include a degree in Computer Science or related field, certifications in MySQL, PostgreSQL, or cloud database technologies, exposure to Data Warehousing, BI, or Big Data platforms, and knowledge of monitoring tools. Soft skills such as problem-solving, analytical skills, communication, collaboration, and a proactive mindset are important for this role. This is a Contractual / Temporary position with a contract length of 6 months.,
