Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Database Administration & Management

Design, implement, and maintain Azure SQL Databases for optimal performance and scalability.

Monitor database performance, security, and availability to ensure 99.99% uptime.

Implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.

Perform query optimization and indexing to enhance database performance.

Maintain database security by implementing best practices for access control and encryption.

Create and manage database tables, views, stored procedures, and functions as per business requirements .

2. Azure Data Factory & Data Integration

Design and develop data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to integrate data across multiple systems.

Create and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to support data warehousing and reporting.

Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline execution failures to ensure smooth data movement.

Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to ensure efficient data availability for reporting and analytics.

3. Collaboration & Cross-Team Support

Work with software development teams to optimize database queries and structures for new applications.

Support RPA and automation teams by ensuring seamless database interactions.

Provide expertise on data modeling, governance, and compliance best practices.

4. Monitoring & Troubleshooting

Set up automated monitoring and alerting for database health and performance issues.

Investigate and resolve database-related incidents, bottlenecks, and failures.

Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for performance issues and implement long-term solutions.

5. Security, Compliance, and Best Practices

Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other data security regulations in healthcare IT.

Regularly audit database security, access logs, and data encryption policies.

Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and maintain secure authentication mechanisms.

6. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

Stay up to date with Azure database technologies and best practices.

Research and implement automation tools to improve database efficiency.

Suggest enhancements to optimize cost, performance, and scalability of cloud-based database solutions.
