Data Stage Administrator

The DataStage Administrator manages and supports IBM InfoSphere DataStage environments across development, test, and production. The role focuses on secure user and access administration, environment stability, and compliant change control. You will plan and execute patches and upgrades, coordinate backups and recoveries, and validate ETL jobs post-change. The position requires close collaboration with infrastructure and database teams for crossplatform integrations and prompt remediation of security vulnerabilities. Documentation of all changes, fixes, and vendor interactions with IBM is essential.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on IBM InfoSphere DataStage administration experience (5+ years)
• User, role, and group management with proper permissions and RBAC
• Patch and fix pack management; planning and executing upgrades
• Backup, restore, and validation of DataStage components and projects
• Post-upgrade/job validation and environment health checks
• Security hardening and vulnerability remediation
• Collaboration with infrastructure and database teams for integrations
• Change management and documentation of changes, upgrades, and patches
• Vendor coordination with IBM Support for patching and issue resolution
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix servers and basic shell for admin tasks (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Create and manage user accounts, roles, groups, and permissions for secure access
• Record and document all changes, upgrades, and patches applied to the environment
• Collaborate with infrastructure and database teams for cross-platform integration
• Plan and manage upgrades: coordinate backups, update components, and validate jobs
• Set up correct roles and permissions for new developers; enforce least-privilege and RBAC
• Identify and fix vulnerability issues; apply security configurations and hotfixes
• Coordinate with IBM on patching activities; download, test, and apply patches/fix packs
• Maintain runbooks, change tickets, and audit trails for compliance
• Monitor environment health and perform routine housekeeping and validation checks
• Support incident resolution and escalate to IBM Support/vendor as needed
