Data Privacy Lead

Role Overview: As bp transitions to an integrated energy company, they are setting up a business and technology centre (BTC) in Pune, India to enhance customer experience and drive innovation. The BTC will be a core part of the Customers & Products business, collaborating with colleagues across functions at bp. This is an exciting time to join bp and the Customers & Products BTC! Key Responsibilities: - Act as a senior source of expertise for data privacy, providing specialist advice to collaborators, identifying areas of risk, and implementing controls. - Work with the Central Data Privacy Office and Central Data Office to conduct risk reviews and update C&P's log of strategic data privacy risks. - Collaborate with business units to identify and address areas open to data privacy risk, implementing cross-functional solutions. - Develop privacy/legal knowledge and digital capabilities, run training sessions, and act as a go-to contact point for privacy queries. - Serve as an accountable Data Privacy Manager for business units without a dedicated DPM, supporting activities like Data Mapping and Privacy Impact Assessments. - Collaborate with C&P Marketing Hub, C&P Data Privacy Managers, and Central Data Office to develop global solutions for leading Data Privacy risk within local markets. Qualification Required: - Strong understanding of Data Privacy principles and Product Ownership. - Awareness of domestic and global privacy laws, regulations, and standards, with experience in digital technologies for data privacy risk management. - Passion for promoting customer trust in digital products/services and understanding of Ad-Tech/Mar-Tech ecosystem. - Experience in handling data protection rights requests and complaints, as well as communicating effectively with partners at all levels. - 12-15 years of experience in Data Privacy and/or Risk Management. Additional Details: This role is based within the C&P Central Data Office, offering the opportunity to work globally with partners from Business, Legal, Ethics & Compliance, and Technology to handle strategic data initiatives and improve Data Privacy knowledge.
