Data Platform Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and high-performing data platforms.
• Develop and manage data pipelines using Databricks, Snowflake, and Kafka.
• Build and maintain applications hosted on AWS or Azure.
• Work on data/computation-intensive backend systems, such as grid-based platforms.
• Collaborate in an Agile development environment, participating in code reviews and full development lifecycle.
  

Required Skills

• 4–10 years of experience in data engineering and architecture.
• Strong expertise in Databricks, Snowflake, and Kafka.
• Solid programming skills in Java, Scala, or Python (with willingness to learn others).
• Strong understanding of OOP principles and an interest in Functional Programming.
• Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and distributed systems.
• Familiar with tools like Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, JIRA, and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  

Preferred / Nice To Have

• Prior experience with financial services or knowledge of financial products.
• Exposure to grid-based computation or real-time data streaming platforms.
• Experience with working on wider backend responsibilities and understanding others’ codebases.
