About the Role

Azure Developer / Data Engineer


Key Responsibilities

  • Azure Environment Setup:

  • Establish and configure initial Azure environment aligned with HIPAA / PHI / PII standards.
  • Implement

    platform security best practices

    : encryption at rest, encryption in transit, port locking, whitelisted IPs.

  • Data Security & Connectivity:

  • Ensure

    secure data connectivity

    for APIs and flat-file transfers.
  • Design and configure a

    DMZ for non-API-based transfers

    .

  • Database & Platform Integration:

  • Collaborate with third-party vendor

    Health Samurai

    to install and configure PostgreSQL platform.
  • Spin up and manage

    SQL analytics database

    in Azure.

  • Data Engineering:

  • Develop

    Azure Data Factory pipelines

    for:
  • External client EHR / Billing System (in collaboration with Health Samurai)
  • QuickBooks Online integration
  • Build

    secure and scalable ETL processes

    for structured and semi-structured data.

  • Virtualization & BI Integration:

  • Spin up and manage a

    Windows 11 VM

    .
  • Link

    Excel Power Tools

    with SQL / PostgreSQL databases.
  • Integrate

    Power BI

    with SQL / PostgreSQL databases for analytics and visualization.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of experience as an

    Azure Developer / Data Engineer

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    Azure security best practices

    (encryption, firewalls, access control, IP whitelisting).
  • Hands-on experience with

    Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and PostgreSQL

    .
  • Experience in setting up

    secure data pipelines

    with EHR / Billing systems and financial platforms.
  • Familiarity with

    HIPAA, PHI, and PII compliance standards

    .
  • Proficiency in

    ETL development, data integration, and API-based data transfer

    .
  • Knowledge of

    Power BI and Excel Power Tools

    integration.
  • Experience with

    Windows VM provisioning and management

    .


Good to Have

  • Exposure to healthcare domain data systems (EHR, EMR, Billing).
  • Experience with

    QuickBooks Online integration

    .
  • Previous collaboration with vendors like

    Health Samurai

    or similar platforms.
